The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), commemorated the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II through a series of activities that included two conferences on the Japanese occupation of the Philippines and the resistance to it. Both historical and people who survived the war served as resource speakers during these February and August 2005 conferences.
This compilation presents stories of civilians, Filipinos and foreigners alike, during the years when the country was under Japanese rule. The NHCP hopes that this volume will provide readers valuable insights six decades after the war and that this part of our history will not occur again.
